HOW TO REACH US FROM ABROAD

The EPFL is situated near Lausanne in Switzerland and depending from where you are coming from you can reach us

By plane to Lausanne

Switzerland is served by 2 international airports which are very well connected to Lausanne by train:

GVA : The airport of Genève-Cointrin is located at about 70 km from Lausanne. Lausanne is well connected to GVA with 3 trains per hour. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Most of the train are direct.
Zurich-airport : The airport of Zürich is located at about 200 km from Lausanne. Zurich is at about 3 hours from Lausanne by train. There are 2 trains per hour. Some require to change in Zurich Main Train Station or in Bern.

By train to Lausanne

There are good train connections from Paris, Lyon, and Milano.

From Paris : 4 trains per day and the journey takes about 4 hours.

From Lyon : 1 train every 2 hours and the journey takes about 2 hours and half. It is always necessary to change in Geneva Main Train Station.

From Milano : 1 departure every 2 hours. The journey takes about 4 hours and it is usually direct.

By car to EPFL

When approaching Lausanne on the freeway, take direction Lausanne Sud, and exit at EPFL. The exit ramp makes a turn and you will almost go back from where you came. Go ahead on the highway towards Geneva. You will pass the buildings of the University of Lausanne on your right, and then a modern communication "tower" with an antenna. This is our building ODYSSEA.
